Tango Down – Identity Crisis

Released on September 26, 2012 by Kivel Records

Melodic rock/hair metal. How much you like this will most likely depend on what you think of vocalist David Reece. I like him well enough, but I think his voice is better suited to the stuff he did with Accept back in the late 80’s when he took over for Udo. Here it’s a little too muscular for the lightweight melodies on display. The rest of the band is fine, but the guitar work doesn’t jump out at me, and as is usually the case with this genre too many of the songs are generic. Lacks killer hooks. Tempted to add a point for the hot redhead on the cover, but I’ll restrain myself..
